Welcome to CHEAP, our brand-new series about things that are good, but most of all, cheap. CHEAP!
This is my hype. A subwoofer from a fantastic audio brand with a powerful $136.03 off its list price? Yes, I will show you how to get hold of the Klipsch R-12SW. Go here, buy it, and bask in your brilliant decision.
Before I added a subwoofer to my audio set-up, I was under the impression that it was only useful for bass-heavy music. Yeah, it’d make all the boom-bap East Coast rap I love pop, but would it add anything to all the soft boy music I listen to? Spoiler: yeah, it did. Using a subwoofer gave my music a richer, rounder sound, and I loved it.
Full disclosure, I’ve never owned a Klipsch subwoofer, but I’ve used a lot of the company’s other audio gear, and have been constantly impressed with it. Reviews of the R-12SW have been positive, with the only negative coming over its price (it was over $460 at launch) – something that’s no longer an issue now you can pick it up for $212.
So, let’s talk features. The gorgeous-looking R-12SW has an all-digital amplifier that can deliver 400W of power, has low pass and phase control (there’s a great explainer in the top comment here), and has both line and LFE inputs. This latter part basically means you should be able to connect the R-12SW subwoofer to most amplifiers and receivers. Ugh, this is such a good deal.
If you’ve been looking to beef up your sound system and add some bass to proceedings, the $136.03 off the Klipsch R-12SW is a fantastic opportunity to do so. It’s a premium product, made by a great audio brand, and has a hefty amount of money off. I’m just thankful I’m not your neighbor.
