Apple’s pushed a rather quick bug fix for people using older devices who were stuck when asked to enter their password during install.
The company had at first said it would halt updates to devices suffering from the glitch, so it’s good users can now get on with using all the great new features on iOS 9.3.
An Apple spokesperson explained earlier:
In some cases, if customers do not recall their password, their device will remain in an inactivated state until they can recover or reset their password. For these older devices, we have temporarily pulled back the update and will release an updated version of iOS 9.3 in the next few days that does not require this step.
The update does just that, but some have already raised concerns about the potential security implications of simply removing an authentication step.
