Facebook already added read receipts to Messenger making it hard to avoid boring people who somehow still clutter your ‘friends’ list, now it wants to make Events just as tedious.
According to The Daily Dot, Events read receipts will give hosts the ability to see who has opened their invites and checked updates on an event page. They’ll be visible on mobile and desktop.

A Facebook spokesperson told the Daily Dot: “We’re piloting the ability for private event hosts and guests to know whether their friends they invited have seen the event.”
My new rule? I’m not even looking at my Event notifications when this rolls out. You can find me (and The Next Web) on Twitter.
