Anxious to get your hands on Apple’s latest offerings? We are, too! When it comes to hardware and software, some pretty good stuff is in the pipeline.
You’ll probably hang onto your existing hardware, at least for a little while longer. If you’re looking to upgrade your software, here’s when everything will be available for download:
-
watchOS 2 for Apple Watch — September 16
-
iOS 9 for iPhone and iPad — September 16
-
OS X El Capitan for Mac — September 30
Apple Watch will have native apps and complications with watchOS 2, but it still needs the iPhone for many features and functions. Until (or if) Apple makes watchOS a true standalone, new versions will come out alongside iOS.
El Capitan is an iterative take on OS X Yosemite, but it shines in all the right spots. The new split-screen mode for some apps is fantastic, and Apple’s new Notes app is also pretty well designed.
