Apple tells users with iOS 8.0.1 to downgrade to iOS 8, wait on new update in ‘next few days’

Apple pushed out a buggy update to iOS 8 which disabled cell reception and TouchID on devices, and now it is telling customers who downloaded iOS 8.0.1 it to reinstall iOS 8 using iTunes and wait on an incoming fix.

The note on the company’s support pages — spotted by The Verge — explains that a bug-free iOS 8.0.2 update will arrive “in the next few days.” Apple says that its new Health app, which was disabled in iOS 8 due to issues, should be working again with the iOS 8.0.2 patch.

The iTunes restore fix was noted by some users. Nonetheless Apple has at least confirmed the problem and revealed a fix is on its way.
