The Mechanical Tumor

The Mechanical Tumor

Check out this disgusting work of art. I mean, I always knew my computers were alive but I never imagined it could be this ugly and repulsive. It is a work of art by Japanese interactive media artist Mio I-zawa which monitors activity on your PC.

If the processor is active (during games and other intensive work) the tumor grows, pulses and then shrinks again. I guess Mio is not a big fan of computers then.

Fittingly enough the “Mechanical Tumor” is currently only compatible with Windows PCs. I can see this being worked into an Apple advertisement: “Mac OS X: No Virusses AND Mechanical Tumor free”

Or maybe not.
