But that's all we really know for now

Not even luxury sportscar brands will be able to avoid the pivot to electric power.

Ferrari’s boss, John Elkann has said that the prancing horse will launch its first fully-electric model in 2025, Autocar reports.

Speaking during the company’s annual general meeting, Elkann said, “You can be sure this will be everything you dream the engineers and designers at Maranello can imagine for such a landmark in our history.”

Ferrari is no stranger to partially electric drivetrains, it has been using mild-hybrid systems to boost power since its 2013 La Ferrari.

In 2019, the company unveiled the SF90 Stradale, a plug-in hybrid. That makes it sound boring, like a Prius, but this is far from dull.

While it has a four liter V8, it also has three electric motors, yes, THREE! All together it puts out nearly 1,000 horsepower.

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is the company’s first plug-in hybrid, and was unveiled in 2019.

In similar fashion, you can be sure that Ferrari’s first all-electric affair will be just as mental and flamboyant.

Elkann also said the machine will bring the “uniqueness and passion” of Ferrari to “new generations.”

We have no solid details yet, understandably Ferrari is keeping its cards close to its chest. However, based on leaked patents, the company could be shaping up to produce a four-wheel drive, two seater, with a motor on every wheel.

But for now, that’s all we have.
